British Goals for Beijing Games (Harrod UK Ltd)
The last time a GB Football Team attended the Paralympic Games was Barcelona 1992, but for Beijing 2008 it’s all systems go as both the Blind Squad and the Cerebral Palsy Squad secured a place at the prestigious event.
Leading sports equipment manufacturer Harrod UK Ltd was the natural choice to supply special size 5-a-side and 7-a-side football goals for use by the GB Disability Football Team in Beijing.

A Taste of the Top at Wembley Stadium (Harrod UK Ltd)
Over 700 young footballers descended on Northwick Park, Harrow on 11th August to take part in the inaugural McDonald’s National Football Festival, the largest Mini Football Festival in the country.
The coaching session at Northwick Park, in the shadow of the iconic Wembley Arch, gave the children a taste of what was to come, as the afternoon saw a move to Wembley Stadium for a series of Mini Soccer Tournaments on the hallowed turf.
But a Festival of Football is nothing without goals. Harrod UK were called upon to supply 10 sets of Steel Mini Soccer Goals to Northwick Park and 4 sets of Aluminium Mini Soccer Goals to Wembley Stadium for the afternoon play. Sales & Marketing Director Les Saunders commented “It is fantastic to see so many young people getting involved in football, and it is a wonderful experience for them to play on the same pitch as their footballing heroes”.
All the children taking part were awarded with a medal at the end of the day, as well as taking away the priceless memory of playing at the home of English football.
